Smartwool Second Cut Project

According to the EPA, 17 million tons of textile waste ended up in landfills in 2018. This is a sobering statistic, but there are ways we can combat this staggering number. One way is through the donation of unwanted clothing items.

This year, Trail Creek is proud to partner with Smartwool in an effort to help cut down on textile waste through their Second Cut Project. Smartwool's Second Cut Project aims to collect unwanted socks to turn them into new goods.

How It Works

Simply drop your unwanted socks at the donation bin at our Glen Mills store. Once collected, these socks will be ground up and used to make new products instead of ending up in landfills.

What We're Looking For

Clean socks only. All brands, colors, sizes, and materials accepted. No rolled or paired socks. Please drop single socks into the bin.

When We Collect

Trail Creek will be collecting socks from April 21st to May 2nd.
