Confronted with the decision to fight for these last ancient trees and potentially lose access or look away as the valley is stripped for timber, On The Verge is a snapshot of outdoors culture in British Columbia. The way we reconcile industries that give us access to the wilderness with the destruction they cause. The desire to protect our backyard but keep it for ourselves at the same time. The importance of these places to the people who have shaped them and been shaped by them in return.

It was a great day! Along with CRAZE, Toad&Co stopped by in their trailer and hung out with shoppers and visitors and talked up sustainable clothing.
Toad&Co is on a mission to prove that living a sustainable life can be bold, badass and – dare we say it – COOL. The apparel industry is the 4th largest global polluter and the way we see it, you can either go nude or wear sustainable.
Toad&Co is choosing to wear sustainable, and they’re traversing the country in their ’59 Shasta trailer to celebrate how local communities are saving the planet – and they came to Trail Creek Outfitters in Glen Mills! Visitors checked out the Toad&Co trailer (with an interior made from completely sustainable materials), listened to music, drank great beer, and learned about steps you can take to live a more sustainable life.

Thanks to all of you who came out for the Demo hike at First State National Park!
Our Sunday Salomon hike was a success! We tested out the X Ultra Mid GTX and the Outline Mid GTX because the trail was quite muddy. Everyone found the waterproofing and breathability to be amazing. We went on a ~3mi hike and stopped to talk about the shoes. Our seasoned hiker employee, Clare, also stopped to talk about the 10 essentials to have in every pack whether it’s a 2 mi or 2000 mi pack (extra food, water and the ability to treat more, extra layers like a rain jacket, emergency shelter, light source and backup batteries, fire starter, multitool, sun protection, first aid kit, and a map/compass). In that realm, we had a discussion about how the best line of defense is to be prepared before you start your hike and to know how to use everything in your pack. Gear you don’t know how to use is useless gear.
