March 23rd, 1983. It was a Wednesday at 10 a.m. and two guys whose sum total of retail experience was dipping ice cream at Stone Harbor, NJ and selling sundries at a 5 and Dime in New Castle, DE opened the doors to Country Classics. Despite their lack of retail experience, Country Classics was born with the mission of outfitting the most precious of gifts, your free time.

Ronald Reagan was in the White House and Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean topped the charts. Much has changed since then including our name, and our location (twice). What has not changed is our passion for the outdoors and our insistence on quality products.

Amazon was just a river in South America and smart and phone were never said in the same sentence. Much has changed since then. What has not changed is our commitment to our community and our commitment to having a friendly, knowledgeable staff.

The 76er’s would win the NBA title and Clint Eastwood would dare someone to “Go ahead and make his day.” Much has changed since then. What else has not changed is our gratitude to you, our loyal customers. Without you none of this would have been possible.

Saying we are grateful is one thing, but we want to show it by introducing a rewards program. Details will be coming in the next few weeks.
